_Research has shown that children who are bilingual surpass their monolingual peers in cognitive abilities. Bilingual children tend to learn to read and write faster, and they typically have better problem solving skills. In general, children will be ahead academically compared to their monolingual peers.

The Dayton International School, a K-6 Spanish Immersion School, admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
